WebNov 13, 2006 · I knelt down when I first heard ARR1 in person. While it had a few limitations it did have it's own disctinctive sound. Being 8 bit was part of it's color. When they went to the 16 bit series III I felt it lost a lot of it's character. I'm sure the filters contributed to the character as well. I sold mine in the late 80's. WebSample based instruments are really easy to load and use, the synth it's somewhat more involved and I didn't quite manage to master it, I'm hoping to tackle that in a future session. Sampling rate is up to 32 kHz at 8bit (I think this is a series II as it has MIDI, although this looks like an add-on).
