If you are looking at bed from the back, the left side is the only side that will "lock" when the tailgate is shut. And it BARELY works. I have to shut my tailgate 10 times before it latches.. I have oiled the mechanisms and latches but it isnt helping.

If the latch pin has pressure, or any force on it, it will not release easy. Some times you have to push on the tail gate to free it up so that the latch is not in a bind.
